Hollie has been involved in education in Somerset for 20 years. Initially as school office manager and clerk to governing board at Churchstanton Primary School; then as Senior Co-ordinator for the Education Development Service at County Hall and finally as Assistant Manager of Somerset Governor Services between 2002 and 2010. Since taking early retirement in 2010 she has been a governor at Blackbrook Community Primary School (Vice Chair for two years and Chair for five years). During that time she has also been commissioned by the Local Authority to work as an additional governor at a number of other schools in Taunton, providing advice and support on governance. For the past eight years she has been a member of the Governance Services team of trainers, delivering sessions to governors and trustees in maintained schools and academies on: Induction for those New to Governance; Induction for New Chairs of Local Governing Boards and Monitoring the School Development Plan. Hollie is a member of the National Governors’ Association, which represents governors, trustees and clerks in maintained schools and academies in England, supporting and promoting good governance in our schools.
